Orthotics (or orthoses) are shoe inserts which are placed inside your shoe, to improve your walking style and treat foot injuries. They are worn by people of all ages and for a variety of foot and leg problems. For example they may be used by sports people, children, those who work on their feet or have abnormal foot posture, and for painful foot conditions.
Orthotics may be suggested to you by your Podiatrist after a thorough assessment which will include evaluating your walking (or running) style, current footwear, sports/ activities, working situation and lifestyle. The cost of orthotics reflects the depth of this assessment and level of customisation required. Some clients can wear simple ‘off the shelf’ devices prescribed by a Podiatrist – and some may require casted or customised orthotics that are made specifically for your foot condition in a laboratory.
If you would like to discuss the cost of orthotic therapy at Move for Life Podiatry please make an enquiry by phone or via the contact page – we are more than happy to give an indication of the expected cost involved.
